Benefits of group facilitation

Effective facilitation can make a huge difference in helping groups work well together. Groups can be transformed from suspicious individuals protecting their own space and power, to collective teams that respect each others views and think about the needs and rights of each other.

Since 2006 I’ve been increasingly connected with the Australasian Facilitation Network and Groupwork Institute and heavily involved in developing skills and building experience in this exciting field.

My facilitation skills provide lots of benefits for me and the organisations I work with. Examples include:

  • Assisting my wellness training programs to be more interactive, flexible and relevant to the needs of the participants. This style is known as “facilitative training”.
  • Allowing me to assist community groups to develop and progress beyond the red tape, inertia and conflict that can tie them down
  • Allowing me to work with groups in bringing about meaningful, positive and lasting change.
  • Allowing me to assist individuals and groups to move past conflict and distrust and instead help reach their true potential
